This web site is a wonderful educational source for the topics the class is studying right now because it shows the reasons the war between the Spartans and the Athenians stared, how the war escaladed, what actually happened in the war, and the effects of the war. This really shows the full aspect of the Peloponnesian War. Not only does this web site have all this great information, but also it has bolded links throughout the text which lead to other parts of the website to explain those things such as the Athenian Democracy separately and in a more detailed manner. This site explains how the Athenians got such a powerful navy. It states that they taxed other little countries that wanted to be under their protection. Money for protection. Athens never was as powerful as the Spartans but they sure tried to keep up, and did this by keeping this powerful navy. This is just one of the many fact that is on this great web site. The Spartans had much better military strategies and that is why they won the war. The Spartans ended up cutting off the incoming supplies to Athens, and then once Athens was weak, the Spartans invaded.
This web site is just way too great to pass up with all its knowledge about different topics of Greece. A few of the topics about Greece on this web site are Art and Architecture, History of Greece, The Olympics, Wars, Important People, and Greek Mythology, my favorite. This abundance of knowledge can be a great help when people need a broad summarized view of Greece. This site can tell people about the different types of Greek architecture styles to, how the Spartans defeated the Athenians. This site has basically everything on it that has been talked about in class. This broad view of information can help very much to write a paper or project, or just for the readers information. This web site even has a biography for every one of the Greek gods. The Greek gods played a very important role in the Greek peoples’ lives so this is very important. This web site has a ton of maps of Greece which can also be helpful for projects and seeing the expansions of different Empires. This site has just an overall abundance of information and is a very good web site.

This site is so great because it talks a lot about two key topics, the philosophers of Ancient Greece, and the philosophy of Ancient Greece. This site speaks of philosophers such as Socrates and Plato while describing the views on Stoicism, Epicureanism, Skepticism, and Neoplatonism. All these things are very important to Greek philosophy, and Socrates is a very important person to Greek history. Socrates offends the Greek government a lot and is killed for his ideas and concepts of human life and the right ways to live. Yet after this great wise man lives another wonderful follower of Socrates takes his place at teaching others of Socrates ideas, Plato. This philosophers and their ideas, along with other less famous philosophers and their ideas are explained and stated in this great philosophy web site. Some of the ideas of Socrates such as that Greece should be run by philosophers and wise men is not taken in well by the Geek government. Although Socrates is very wise he sure does not figure out how to live very long. This site is great for philosophy and ancient Greece’s philosophical ideas.
