The Dark Ages are a Dark Period of Time
The Middle Ages, or Dark Ages, are not a pretty site. This time period is truly “dark.” Some people may say that chivalry is a plus
in the Dark Ages, but chivalry is just used to cause more wars. Wars lead to chaos, and chaos to death and
poverty. No advancements are made during
this time because everyone is way to preoccupied with
war and other destructive hobbies.
Rulers are unfair and tax citizens very heavily to keep from getting in
debt from all the war costs. This makes
the people in the Dark Ages very poor and most likely very uneducated. The technology in this time is horrid because
nobody is well educated or even care enough to create
new and improved technology. This time
period really sets the people behind the time technology wise. Only a few people have money really, and
these people are the men in government and serfs. These serfs let other poor people live with them
as long as they work for them. This does
not get the poor people upset because they have a place to live, food, and a
job with the serfs. The people of this
time are used to this way of life so they are not affected by the mind set that
life is not that great. Rulers are not
fair and people do not seem to care, but the time period suffers because of
these rulers. All the people of this
time are concerned about is figuring out how to get their next meal or pay off
their debt. The people do not hare who
is ruling just how to deal with it.
These very “dark” ages of time are poverty stricken, have many wars, and
are uneducated, this is a horrible lifestyle.
The Dark Ages Response
I agree that the
Dark Ages should be known as the Dark Ages. This period of trouble rulers and
troubled people make up a very sad, disturbing, “dark” era. With the constant wars and battles and the
loss of technology mentioned, the people of this time have not much to live
for. With a civilization that cannot
even read and write, but is only concerned about how to get their next meal or
where to live, a civilization cannot get very much accomplished. With the extreme poverty, and the massive
rulers the people have no say in how their lives are run. The religion rage is also another big
deal. This rage is a cause of most the
wars in this time period. The wars
between Christians and Muslims tell back to the Dark Ages. Still the constant fight over the right
religion exists. There is one thing that
I disagree with in Tucker’s response.
During this time period there are rulers, some rulers are unknown but
still there are rulers. With rulers it
is not possible for Anarchy but more a bunch of Dictatorships. These rulers are one of the main causes for
the Dark Ages with all the poverty and uneducated people. The rulers start wars and make other bad decisions. There are definitely rulers in the Dark ages,
they may not be good rulers, or even well known rulers, but with rulers it is
not possible for an Anarchy.
